Our story starts in Vittoria, Sicily, where Sal Lauretta and his father Raffaele learned the fine art of men’s tailoring. In 1962, they packed up their patterns and prized tailor’s manual and came to America. Sal and Raffaele opened Sal Lauretta for Men in 1974 and today, Sal’s son Ralph is helping carry on the Lauretta tradition of fine menswear and tailoring. The selections have expanded to include formal wear, a boys department, custom-made accessories and an extensive collection of designer casual wear.

Sal Lauretta for Men puts its clothing to work to benefit the wider community. In addition to fundraisers for the Midland Park and Franklin Lakes, NJ education foundations, the shop sponsored “Behind the Seams,” a vibrant men’s fashion show to support Eva’s Village, a comprehensive social service organization based in Paterson, NJ. Sal Lauretta for Men donated clothing to fill the closets in the 2009 Designer Show House, an annual event to benefit Hackensack University Medical Center; and it sponsored a men’s fashion show to raise money for the Bergen County Community Action Partnership, a major anti-poverty agency.
